       camps so they’re ready.”

Rutgers brings back a dynamic group of players
from last season. Key among those is the returner
between the pipes in 2018 First Team All-Big Ten
and First Team All-Region goalkeeper Gianna
Glatz. The Medford, N.J. took her game up a level
last season. In her 19 starts, she posted a 1.27
       goals-against-average, a .785 save percentage
and started in nine shutouts. Her save
percentage ranked fifth in the nation.

                    DEFENSE

On the back line, the Scarlet
       Knights boast a group of
       experienced players. The unit
       returners all of its members
after the team was second in
       the country in save
       percentage and seventh in
       the nation in goals-against-
       average last year.

“We’ll have Kerrie Burns in the
       back returning along with
       Austyn Cuneo," Civico said.
       "Those two have great
       experience, they’re great
       players, they see the field
really well. I expect them to
       really anchor the backfield.
Abby Regn has just been improving and improving. She just came in and was so solid as a starter in her
first year. We expect her to continue to grow and play in our backfield. Emily Howarth has the ability to
play in both the midfield and backfield positions and she’s been working really hard in the offseason so
I’m excited to see where she is.”
