Year-Round Nitrification
For those facilities that operate within warmer climates, Nitrification
Transition should not exist.
However, warmer climates will experience fluctuating temperatures,
requiring process adjustments to compensate for metabolism.
Under the warmest summer temperature, the Operator risks denitrification
occurring within the Secondary Clarifier if detention times are too long.
In the summer Clarifier detention can be as short as 2 hours.
