thought to be immunodeficient. However, it is important to point
out that in these animals, a complete hematological examination
should be performed before more complex assays are considered. It
is also prudent to measure the important lymphocyte
subpopulations by flow cytometry. An animal that has no T cells is
unlikely to mount any sort of cell-mediated response.
