The condition is diagnosed on the clinical signs and confirmed by radiography and
endoscopy. Pus can often be seen draining from the guttural pouch opening(s) into the
pharynx when the horse is examined with an endoscope. A small endoscope can be inserted
into the guttural pouch allowing the pus or chondroids to be seen. When radiographs are
