Prognosis
The prognosis is excellent with proper management and care.

CHORIOPTIC MANGE
Chorioptic mange is caused by a small mite, Chorioptes equi, which lives on the skin surface.
The mites are less than 1 mm in length and cause irritation by their activity as they feed on
the superficial layers of skin. They are frequently found in heavy horse breeds with lots of
feathering on the lower limbs (Figure 18.13).
