Discretionary Awards
The Chief Executive Officer has full discretion to award team members additional Paid Time Off
as team member incentives or as he/she otherwise determines.
Pay Upon Termination
A team member will be entitled to be paid for all accrued but unused Paid Time Off but shall not
be entitled to any pay for any unused Carry Over Sick Leave. To the extent that any Paid Time
Off was advanced to a team member in excess of hours earned (a “negative PTO balance”), the
value of such negative PTO balance will be deducted from the team member’s final pay check
based upon the team member’s then current pay rate.
Exceptions
The Chief Executive Officer may make any exception to this policy as she/he reasonably
determines as long as such as such exception does not result in a team member receiving less
Paid Time Off than would otherwise be determined by this policy.
Donation
Team members may donate PTO to peers that are in need of time off to cope with a medical or
personal emergency. This program provides a way to help co-workers who would otherwise
suffer a substantial loss of income as a result of taking unpaid leave. It does not entitle team
members to take additional leave.
Those receiving donated hours from a peer must have a documented need for time off, no pre-
planned absence and no accrued PTO available at the time of the request.
To donate, a PTO Donation Form must be completed and submitted to Human Resources by
the donor. The team member to receive the donation must be indicated. All requests will be
reviewed and approval is the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer. Once the time is
donated, it cannot be returned to the donor.
Anyone abusing this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including
termination of employment.
