All team members are expected to present a neat and clean appearance and to dress
appropriately for their position and duties. Team member’s dress should reflect the professional
nature of their position as well as be functional within the expectations and responsibilities of
their job. All articles of clothing must be of adequate size and should be worn in a manner that
covers the team member’s midriff, chest, and back while performing all required job duties.
Further, all clothing must be clean and wrinkle-free.
Please do not wear anything that other team members might find offensive or that might make
coworkers uncomfortable. This includes clothing with profane language statements or clothing
that promotes causes that include, but are not limited to, politics, religion, sexuality, race, age,
gender, and ethnicity.
Team members who work directly with children must wear the Jack and Jill Children’s Center
uniform shirt and black or khaki long pants, except Elementary School teachers and
Administrative staff who may otherwise wear business casual attire. Team members can wear
jeans every Friday with a polo shirt or Jack and Jill t-shirt (teaching staff)/business casual shirt
or Jack and Jill polo shirt or Jack and Jill t-shirt (administrative staff) and on the last Friday of
each month, team members can wear jeans with a shirt of their choice. At other specific times
during the year, team members may be allowed to dress more casually, depending on the
situation.
Business casual attire includes suits, pants, jackets, blouses, button down shirts, polo style
shirts, skirts and dresses and are appropriate for a business environment. Casual attire
includes jeans, t-shirts, sneakers or boots. Footwear such as flip-flops or sandals are not
appropriate for business casual or casual attire.
As a team member you are assigned an identification badge. This badge is always to be
visible and worn on your person while you are on the campus. The badge is to be returned in
the event you separate as a team member from the organization. Jack & Jill may seek
reimbursement for the cost of the badge if it is not returned. All substitutes, parent volunteers,
and community volunteers must wear an identifiable badge so that others know who the
person is.
Team members should refrain from wearing perfumes and other fragrances as other team
members and/or children may be allergic to them or may find them offensive. Team members
working directly with children are highly encouraged to wear the least amount of jewelry of any
kind as it could present a safety risk to the children. Team members are expected to keep their
nails neat, clean, and trimmed. Jack & Jill Children’s Center is not responsible for damage to or
loss of a team member’s articles of clothing, jewelry and/or accessories.
Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
