Dale Carnegie, in another of his books (How

to Win Friends and Influence People), discusses
what people look for in other people or what people

like in other people. He lists four or five things that

people like. We can all do these things. He says to
smile. It makes sense that people would be more

likely to like a person with a smiling face. Or as I
would tell my students, “My number one beauty tip

is to smile.”

Another item was to listen well. People like

other people who listen well. If you smile and listen
well, there is a good chance that people will like

you and treat you well. That can help you enjoy
your life and maintain your positive attitude. It is

easy to have a positive attitude when people like

you and are kind to you. Just doing those two
things which we can all do will lead to more friends,

better grades and higher paying jobs.

I also believe that if you show great manners

and consideration to people, they will appreciate
