Q: Who will ultimately own which parts of ABN AMRO?
A: The Consortium banks will each be acquiring those parts of ABN AMRO that best fit with its
existing businesses and strategic priorities:
• Fortis will own BU Netherlands (excluding wholesale clients), BU Private Clients (globally
excluding Latin America) and BU Asset Management.
• RBS will own BU North America, BU Global Clients and the wholesale clients in the
Netherlands and Latin America (excluding Brazil), BU Asia (excluding Saudi Hollandi), BU
Europe (excluding Antonveneta) and the product capabilities serving its clients within the
Global Markets and Transaction Banking Product Business Units.
• Santander will own Antonveneta and BU Latin America (excluding wholesale clients outside
of Brazil).
