STEP 6: Recommendations &
Implementation
The final element of the case analysis process is that of
making recommendations. These recommendations are
generally focused on changing functional, business, and
corporate strategy and organizational structure and control
to improve business performance and as such are future
oriented. Their efficacy is directly related to the
thoroughness with which the case analysis was prepared.
However, typically, managers seek "satisfying" rather than
“maximising” solutions when selecting courses of actions
(See Cyert, Simon & March; Leadership Approaches); that is,
they choose courses of action that meet most of the chosen
strategy criteria. Recommendations will be subject to
“satisficing”.
Having identified the best solution a recommendation or
recommendations may now be made. The
recommendations list should help achieve this.
