Shortly afterwards Litan called Jim and asked him to
attend a meeting in Edinburgh with Litan and one of the
Russian scientists. Jim agreed and the meeting duly took
place.
At the meeting Litan set out his plans for the future which
essentially would mean concentrating on completing the
prototype and seeking external funding. In addition he
had approached Scottish Water with the view to them
testing and certificating the prototype. Dr. Mamikon said
that the patents were lying idle and should be used to
generate a financial return. Moreover, he thought that
other patents could be brought into the company and
developed. In addition, a full costing of the component
parts, commercially available, had been undertaken
which now allowed a full costing of the product to be
undertaken. Litan promised to forward a copy to Jim.
Litan also said that he was determined to devote himself
full time to the company and to this end was going to
give up his current job to work full time. Moreover, he
said that he had met up with a BDM from Lloyds and a
couple of private investors and all of them had expressed
their interest in having one- to-one meetings with him to
discuss the project in detail.
