Jim looked at the expenses file with despair (See
Appendix 1: Start-Up Expences). He phoned Litan and
advised him not to submit these figures as with the
costing, they were fictitious, unrealistic and could only
show him up in a poor light. Lying was too dangerous. It
was too easily found out. Moreover, he asked Litan for a
copy of the full business plan he was submitting to the
Chamber of Commerce. This was not forthcoming until
late March 2012 after it had been submitted (See
Appendix 2) and was full of inconsistences and somewhat
less than truthful. Moreover, it was obvious that Litan
had filtered the information that Jim had seen.
