1: Covid-19 emerges and results in national lockdowns.
Educational establishments are confronted with the
cessation of face-to-face teaching and the erosion of their
income bases.
2: Universities sought routes to address the Covid-19
impact. Initially two strands emerged where some
institutions moved directly to only online delivery whilst
others sought the return of students to face-to-face
instruction but with heavily reduced class sizes and contact.
The later strand failed.
