the heritage site. According to the study
conducted by Apostolakis (2013), repackaging
was well recognized by the visitors, which
included barriers, disabled access, food and
beverage outlets, live cultural performances,
etc. Interestingly, most visitors found these
modifications positive. It is suggested that
packaging shall involve the demarketing
element.
* PROGRAMMING:
It refers to the development of certain services
or improvement of the existing ones, which
might make the whole package more
fascinating and hence would result into
increased consumer spending. This would
certainly bring in more revenues but perhaps
not the economic sustainability.
This might be due to the difficulties in the
management of the increased waste.
Therefore, a right balance needs to be crafted
between the level of programming and the
carrying capacity. A right mix of programming
with packaging would help in overcoming the
sustainability challenges.
