            oversight can improve the bottom line

       11.  Poor communication with an auditor. Make
           sure you understand your certification body’s
           audit  process  and  ask  for  documentation.
           Clarify  the  dates  and  times  of  the  audit
           schedule with the auditor and be sure to clarify
           questions during the  audit. Get a copy of their
           report  and  call  them  if  you  need  help
           resolving  any  issues—before,  during  and
           even after an audit.

       12.  Weak   internal   auditing   performance.
           Strengthen   your   internal   audit   team’s
           performance  by  shadowing  your  certification
           body’s  audit  team.  Consider  attending  an
           external  lead  auditor  or  communication  skills
           training course to learn how to ask appropriate
           questions. Also, create an understanding with
           management on the appropriate time needed
           to complete an effective audit. Internal auditing,
