Case Study: Wisconsin AGD

• The Wisconsin secured a lobbyist for the 2021 year with

assistance from the Advocacy Fund to combat dental

therapy in their state and work with Wisconsin legislators

to find alternative methods for increasing access to oral

health care.

• Worked with dental therapy bill author to pass

legislation authorizing Expanded Function Dental

Assistants (EFDA): an auxiliary that fits within the

dental home model.

• Worked with the Committee on Finance to pass

legislation that increases the dental Medicaid

reimbursement rate by 40% for all dental providers.
