Virtual Credit Card/Claim Payment

The Problem

• Insurance carriers may use issue a credit/debit card to pay claims

• These cards often have transaction fees that a dentist must pay to

receive payment – may be upwards of 5%

• Some insurers do not offer an alternative payment method

Potential Legislative Fix

• Requires insurers to inform dentists of alternative payment methods

• Give dentists the option to opt for a different payment method
