Before her passing, she was gathering data to get
LAS accepted diagnostically in the next DSM
manual as a subset of Post Traumatic Stress.
She developed a course and certified practitioners
as ADAAA (Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments
Act) Advocates. Advocates help to emotionally
prepare clients before court and, if necessary,
stand beside them during a court hearing.
I took and taught her classes. Although there are
specific ADAAA statutes and mandates to help
people with disability, visible or invisible, most (if
not all) courts disregard them. The court actors are
either not aware of the statutes, don’t want to
know about them or totally ignore them.
After one of my ADAAA clients was jailed for a year
for standing up against the sexual abuse of her
daughters, I wrote to the State Coordinator of the
ADAAA to complain about the refusal of the court
to follow-up on ADAAA mandates. I was very
