accidents, assault, and abuse (child abuse,

domestic violence, ritual abuse…), being in a war or
displaced by a war, or sudden and major emotional
               losses.

One of the leading causes of PTS(D) is sexual
violence, and those who experienced sexual
trauma have a higher risk of developing PTS(D).

A shocking statistic: 17% of combat troops are
women. 71% of female military personnel develop
Post Traumatic Stress due to sexual assault within
               the ranks.

In the general population, we find that 1 out of 5
people will experience Post Traumatic Stress.
               However, with first responders (Paramedics,

Rescue Teams, Firefighters, Police), the statistic
shows that 30% of them will develop Post
               Traumatic Stress.

               C-PTS(D)

Complex Post Traumatic Stress, although not

recognized in the DSM-5, is gaining acceptance.

Post Traumatic Stress can be triggered by ONE
event, which may have many facets.
