At that point of the treatment, she was able
to bathe in 1 inch of water. She could wash
herself and even shower. It was the "body of
water" that triggered a reaction. She could
not drive by a river, a lake or the ocean... and
she lived in San Francisco.
Dr. Callahan had treated her with
conventional methods for about a year and
a half, making little headway.
One day, Mary arrived at his office,
complaining of stomach discomfort after
having taken a detour, which led her by a
body of water.
Dr. Callahan stepped out of the "normal
boundaries" of psychology, and asked Mary
to tap with her fingertips under her eye (a
pressure point on the stomach meridian),
which she did for a couple of minutes.
To his astonishment, she jumped up
shouting "I am cured, I am cured," and raced
