SCHEDULE Associates (VDTA), worked with the University of Chicago
Completed: 2015 Laboratory Schools, a premier PK–12 school associated with the

35% The Gordon Parks Arts Hall dramatically increased the Lab Schools’
ability to support its theater and music programs. Two new black
box theaters, with associated support spaces and a 700-seat
assembly hall, support the Hall’s primary programmatic functions.
Art studios and music classrooms were designed to take advantage
of the views of Scammons Garden, directly north of the new wing.
The Gordon Parks Arts Hall supports programs in theater, music
and the visual arts with three new performance halls, studios,
rehearsal and practice rooms, a digital media room and additional
spaces to support the programs.
The project is LEED Silver certified.
