The Strength of FGM “Our People”
Reports suggest we spend 100,000 and 110,000 hours working over our lifetime. While this seems
rather extreme, FGM believes it is important to balance all that work with a little fun as well.
This past year, many FGMers once again, took to competing
together in a variety of events. For the third summer in a row,
Southern Region staff members competed in a volleyball
league at Silver Creek Saloon and again took first place. The
winning team included Brennan and Gina Hartin, Jake and
Taylor McCann and Aaron Keistler, on occasion. Emily and
Brock Spindler usually join the group, but were busy being
pregnant with their son, Leo. Another grueling Tough Mudder
was undertaken by Nhi Nhe, Ron Richardson, Michael Becker
and Michael Porto. Danny Matchett, Katie Corey, Casey Ryan
and Aaron Keistler again participated in the St. Louis Young
Architects Forum softball league, while Art Hayhurst and Ron
Richardson
joined
forces to
race bicycles in the annual Tour de Donut
event in Staunton, Illinois. This race was a 36-
mile ride where there were donut stops along
the way. The more donuts you eat, the better
your time and for the folks who work around
Art, you know he probably did very well at this
event while Ron, probably not so good! Keep
up the fun and we encourage more of this
type of activity in the future.
And how can we forget this historic event, yes, the
Cubs ended a 108-year drought by winning the World
Series. As usual, the friendly rivalry between the
regional managers ended again with Tim dealing with
the shame of having a Cubs World Series Pennant
posted on his office for a week. It seems with Tim’s luck
lately, with having to wear a Cubs Jersey last year for
losing a bet, he probably shouldn’t enter any more
bets with Andy!
In January 2016, FGM hosted its bi-annual Holiday Party
at the Doubletree in Oak Brook. This event is a huge
success in that it is an opportunity for FGM to bring all staff and their significant others to one place
and have fun as a firm. This event was, of course, led by our fearless leader, John Ochoa, whether
