everyone who has been active in these efforts. While missing a person to fill the role of
Architectural Applications Manager, TAG also made a concerted effort to stay focused on
updating our REVIT standards library as well as implemented the REVIT template general notes. A
special thanks to Brian Lipski, Aaron Keistler and Ryan Venhuizen for stepping up and assisting with
these efforts. Looking forward for TAG, FY17 goals include streamlining our QA/QC process and
clearly defining the procedures, creating an FGM Masterspec and moving us to a firm-wide
implementation of E-spec as well as develop and create the ICC-500 detail library with resources
for the firm to utilize. Thanks to TAG for all their efforts!
Operations Team
The Operations Team, overall, remained intact from the previous year except for a change to the
leadership of the Team. John Ochoa stepped back from leading the Team to become an advisor
to the team while the Regional Managers became active co-leaders of the group.
Alternative work hours continue as a permanent option for everyone in the firm and has been
successful in offering flexibility and work/life balance. The Employee Guidelines have been
updated and are active.
New employee on-boarding was improved this year where there is a more formal process when
new employees come into the firm.
Given the economic challenges the firm has been faced with over the year, the Ops Team
decided to postpone the search for the Architectural Applications Manager. This decision is not
meant to be a permanent decision as we see the importance of keeping the positive progress
we have made in recent years.
During the course of the year, FGM continued its strategic initiatives to encourage more
movement of staff across all the markets where needs arise. We believe this has been valuable
for many reasons, but the primary benefits we see include building a stronger firm-wide knowledge
base in each and every practice area which allows diversity and strength to the staff as a whole
as well as the beginnings of stronger bonds between staff of all practice areas.
