Steven Elmore
Steve Elmore is Vice President of Drug Discovery Science & Technology at AbbVie. He received his
Ph.D. in Chemistry from The Ohio State University with Professor Leo Paquette. While at AbbVie,
his research efforts span the interface of chemistry, biology, and technology with a focus on small
molecule drug discovery.
Timothy Grieme
Tim Grieme is a Senior Chemist II at AbbVie. He received his M.S. in Chemistry from the
University of Illinois at Chicago, where he studied under Professor David Crich. Tim has focused
his research on the process development and optimization of small molecules.
Lisa Hasvold
Lisa Hasvold is a Senior Scientist II at AbbVie. She received her M.S. in Organic Chemistry from
Iowa State University, studying under Richard Larock. Lisa’s work in Oncology has focused
on small molecule discovery with emphasis on BET and Bcl-2 family inhibitors. Lisa received an
ACS Technical Achievement Award (TAOC) award in 2019.
Yi-Yin Ku
Yi-Yin Ku, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Fellow at AbbVie and has 32 years of service. She has led
multidisciplinary teams to develop DS manufacture process for more than 30 programs.
She was responsible for the design of the commercial synthesis and leading commercial process
development for venetoclax.
