3D PARAMETRIC BIM MODEL ISSUES

Requirements for BIM-based 3D Design
From the planning stage, the core media of information delivery should be a 3D information model.
The surest way is to build a library of information models that reflect design criteria and to create the
design results with it. Libraries must be able to be operated parametrically, and the design results must be
able to respond to design changes at any stage in real-time collaboration. For these requirements to be
realized, not only wide variety of related technical elements must be developed, but also the level of
practicality must be secured throughout the whole design process.

Cases of Developing 3D Parametric BIM Model
Here are some development cases that have been attempted to build up information model library and to
develop technologies of making design results using it. Based on our self-established variable codes,
independent and dependent variables were defined, developed and applied to a dialog window that
reflects the priority of defining variable values by referring to the existing design process.
