Meeting goals helped spark the Varsity stickmen to a hopeful season. Sectional status was achieved for the first time under the direction of Coach Carl Sanfilippo. De­ spite an opening setback against F-M, the Brothers went on to defeat Ludden by a convincing 7-6 score. Their final goal was accomplished with an unprecedented winning season of 8-6 in league play.
The midfield of the Senior dominated team was led by Bob Gilmartin, Dave Lane, and Tim Crotty. The attack was paced by several key underclassmen, notably Dan Queri and Dave Kopp. Tom Brogan and Mike Roehm sparked the defense.
While the team’s firsts were notable, it is expected that their performance next year will be built on the strong foundation of this season.
