        Casco Bay is perfect for Ensign sailing. There is generally an afternoon ocean
        breeze and the many islands running parallel to each other provide the option of
        sailing on the leeward side of an island if there is too much wind. The claim is
        that there are 365 islands hence the name “Calendar Islands”. But that count was
        likely made at low tide.
        There are twenty-three Ensigns on Chebeague Island, although not all in the
        water at the same time. The Bay offers numerous opportunities for different day
        sails and owners enjoy their own time sailing with little recent interest in racing.
        The Chebeague Island Yacht Club is working on getting more interest in racing…
