Fleet 72 had a great season in 2022. COVID restrictions lifted and club activities
returned to something closer to normal. We started the season with our annual

No Gotta Regatta social event later than normal, on April 2 , so as to be able to

hold it in person. We launched our first boats on May 7 . Around 20 of the 29
boats in our fleet made it into the water this season.

The Saratoga Lake Sailing Club held races all summer on Wednesdays and
Fridays, and several of the Ensign Captains participated. Our Co-Captain Tony
Cannone won the season over all in the Ensign fleet, earning the Blackie Cup.

Our annual Regatta took place on September 10 , with 10 Ensigns participating
in good racing weather. Tony Cannone just barely beat out Jeff Robinson to win

the regatta by 1 point, with Justin Carafano coming in a respectable 3 .

Once again, Fleet 72 hosted the STRIDE adaptive sports program on Mondays
in August. This program allows students with disabilities to attend free sailing
lessons, with the volunteer support of Ensign captains and their boats. As
always, it was an immensely enjoyable experience for all involved.
