For those of you that hadn’t heard, we lost the Mattapoisett Boatyard, which
included the Mattapoisett Yacht Club in a tragic fire this past August. Luckily no
individuals were lost. One MBY employee was injured, who is home making a
good recovery. Thanks to the quick response of his fellow MBY employees, he
was removed from the boat and shed in which the fire had started.
Mattapoisett Boat Yard plans on returning stronger than ever and will continue to
include the Mattapoisett Yacht Club in its Master Plan.
On the Racing Season, MYC’s Fleet 76 had another strong year with 7 Ensigns
competing every Tuesday evening. Although our racing fleet did not expand this
year as hoped, we have 3 additional Ensigns in the harbor this year and we hope
