Our racing season continued with our Summer Solstice and Dog Days
series out of the Wickford Yacht Club.

We are down to just two boats racing now in our fleet. Storm Petrel and
Miss Jenn, so we continued racing in the Cruising class, utilizing the
Narragansett Bay PHRF ratings for an Ensign. There were 9 boats
registered in the cruising group of very different styles and sizes.

This summer’s racing didn’t exactly go as planned for Miss Jenn. A
travel adventure in early June that involved our crew and a follow-on
bout with Covid for my wife only allowed us to get one race in for the
Solstice series. However, Jameson Chace on Storm Petrel did finish 3rd
in the cruising class after completion of 6 races.

We were excited to get back on the race course for the Dog Days series
but, as things can happen on the water, the start of the second race did
not turn out quite like we wanted. A little port - starboard situation at the
start changed the evening and the rest of our season. Both boats
dropped out of the race with Miss Jenn having damage to the aft port toe
