                             From our Regional Education Director

Happy Fall Region 1!! Once the visiting faculty’s classes are set, the
regional faculty is plugged in to fill the
Pilot governance: “gaps”. The schedule is analyzed to try and have
something for many different learners during

The best chance for a successful transition is to the faculty reviews it and adjustments are made,
have the current leaders with their experience and and it eventually becomes finalized. (Some of

would have been difficult for a brand new person
in one of these positions). The plan, as I see it, is So far this method has been met with positives
to get people effectively working on the resource comments. (It takes many hours to accomplish all
teams, so that they are the ones to actually make this, and the process is not taken lightly).
things happen. The directors are the ones to
delegate jobs and oversee that they are done. ....It This summer a couple of us planned a music

was very well received, so we would like to
RED Position: repeat it for the lower level choruses. This idea
came to light after brainstorming the needs of the

took over the position, we were only 1 year out

years. Choosing faculty is tough, as there are
only so many who are good teachers and who can .
teach a variety of the barbershop elements.

The educational plan is based on the judges'
comments that are received each year from
contest. Yes.....in a perfect world, we’d know the
comments and then could choose the faculty to
teach, but that is why getting faculty with a broad
knowledge base works well! Everyone who
comes into Region One is given our contest
tabulations and all the comments, as well as my
overall summary of our needs. We then use that
to build each regional weekend schedule of
