Tags and Swipes, Fall 2017

                            Marketing Corner

Hi Region 1 members - I am so excited to be your Marketing Coordinator again!

Pat Marais, my predecessor, did a wonderful job increasing the use of technology to improve
communications in the region. Thank you Pat for all your hard work for Region One!

Looking ahead, we plan to continue promoting our region to potential new members, streamline
communication/documentation for our existing members and assist chorus marketing coordinators to
help promote their chorus and gain new members. Here are some of our plans:

• Tags and Swipes Online– In an effort to reduce expenses and provide a higher quality newsletter,
all editions will be published online. Using an online format will allow us to publish the newsletter
in higher quality color photos and publish earlier so information is more up to date. We will also
be able to provide embedded links, videos and audio streams. We will also publish a separate
“Contest Edition” right after contest to recognize our regional winners immediately!

• Update Website /Members Only area – we want to create a streamlined, user friendly site that’s
easy to view on multiple platforms/devices. We are evaluating products for a new website as a
recruitment tool and to provide contact information for our choruses/quartets and the region. All
regional related documents (i.e., directories, class handouts, registration forms, etc.) will be hosted
in a new members’ area with a logical flow so users are able to find information.

• Social Media/Technology – Laura Carey, Amanda Pitts and Melissa Barnes Scarpelli have done
a fantastic job keeping our Facebook page current, fun and informative by posting articles, videos
and photos of what happening in our Region! Our Facebook page, along with other electronic
media will continue to keep members informed about what’s happening in our region. Videos will
continue to be used to promote regional events.

• Focused Marketing courses at Regional Weekends – Tori Lynn Cook directs the Harborlight
Show Chorus. In her “real” job, as a Director of Marketing for Chorus Connection, a choir
management software company, Tori brings her expertise to our regional marketing team. Tori
will be presenting focused marketing classes to improve your chorus marketing tools and outreach
   - you won’t want to miss these! Come to the Marketing Coordinator’s network lunch at Fall
Regional Weekend to meet Tori and hear more.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any marketing/website questions!

Looking forward to helping you wherever I can!
