Hobbit Door Giant Chocolate Chip

Cookie

Makes 1 (11-inch) chocolate chip cookie

“It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob
in the exact middle.”

No matter how you like your chocolate chip cookies, each slice of this sweet treat has
something for everyone: a crunchy outer edge, a soft and slightly cakey middle, and a
gooey center.

INGREDIENTS

For the Cookie

1½ cups flour

¼ cup malt powder
¾ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

¾ cup butter, softened
6 tablespoons sugar

¼ cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs, room temperature

1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips

For the Frosting

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, softened
4½ cups sifted powdered sugar, divided

2¼ teaspoons vanilla extract

3 tablespoons milk, divided
Green, pastel green, and yellow gel food coloring
