This tool set is used for checking/setting the camshaft timing, as well as for the
removal, installation, and alignment of VANOS Adjustment Units.

Applicable to BMW 4- and 6-cylinder TwinCam (DOHC) engines M42, M44, M50,
M52, M52TU, M54 and M56 with VANOS System.
This tool set is designed to be used for the locking/positioning of engine shafts such
as camshafts and crankshaft, as well as for pre-tensioning the timing chain when
adjusting the camshaft timing. It is required, for example, when replacing a timing
chain, removing/installing a VANOS System, or during an engine repair.
