               This tool allows for the loosening of the viscous fan pulley (locking the fan pulley).

               Tensioner Tool (V-Ribbed Belt), Mercedes

               Suitable for use on Mercedes Transporters of the 208 D to 410 D Series, eqipped
               with either an OM601 or OM602 engine; also for Mercedes passenger cars fitted
               with a hydraulic pump for self-levelling suspension.
               The tool is used to relieve tension on the V-ribbed belt by pushing back the automatic
               tensioner pulley. Due to the extremely limited space available, in  particular on
               Transporter models, it is very difficult to push back the automatic tensioner pulley in
               order to change the V-ribbed belt. The KL-0384-1 tensioner tool is designed to make
               light work of this difficult job. The tool is operated by a 3/8" socket spanner.
