More money was needed to keep bigger armies, but the people of the Empire did not want to pay
           higher taxes. Money ran out.

The Roman Empire was being attacked by different tribes which the Romans called ‘Barbarians’.

Disease and famine killed many people in the Empire.

Lots of emperors were murdered and civil war broke out in the Empire. There were no strong
        leaders left.

The Roman army was withdrawn from Britain. The Picts from Scotland attacked England. The
Angles and Saxons from Europe attacked Britain too.
