        Experiment 3

Aim: To see how many blocks of wood are needed to stop a car coming down the ramp.

Apparatus: Toy cars, wooden blocks, ramp, metre ruler

Method: Put a block of wood at the end of the ramp. Let go of the car down the ramp.
Does the block of wood stop the car? How many blocks are needed to stop the cars?

        Results: Cars Number of blocks
                     Car 1
                     Car 2
                     Car 3
                     Car 4
                     Car 5

                     Car 6

        Conclusion

        1. A f___________________ is needed to stop or start a car moving.

        2. A force is needed to sp___________ up or sl___________ down a car.

        3. Different cars travel di___________________ distances with the same push.

        4. Mo________ force is needed to stop faster cars.
