                 • What did you see?
                 • What happened?

                 • Climbing back down.

        Spring Term Part 2

Week 6: Writing a description of a picture

Creator and Creation: God created habitats and then filled them with life. People too have
the privilege and responsibility of arranging things within their homes and sometimes
beyond. Choose a large picture with plenty of detail and interest.

                 • What is this picture about? Main focus.
                 • What can you see in the picture? In the middle... In the centre

                 • Consider how to locate other points of interest: on the right/ on the left; in the
                       foreground/ in the background.

This will be written up as a continuous paragraph.

         Week 7: Writing a page for a non-fiction book

Creator and Creation: ‘How wonderful are your works. In wisdom you have made them
               all.’ Psalm 104:24

If possible, link this with work going on in the classroom in project or science.
Alternatively, the children could each make a fact sheet about penguins, after having
a book like ‘Penguins Progress’ by Jill Tomlinson read to them over some weeks.

A selection of non-fiction texts about different creatures could be used; some children
could conduct their own research on the internet to supply actual information. The
children could each chose a creature that interested them. They could then find out

information relating to its ‘appearance’, ‘feeding habits’ and ‘unusual facts’. The
children could order their information under these sub-headings, and illustrate their
               work too.
