• What has teeth but cannot bite?
• What is a riddle?
• The teacher may want to make up a spell me riddle as a group or as individuals. Give suggestions
of suitable three-letter words where children are unsure. e.g. sun: set, cup, nan.
• The teacher may want to consider why some words lend themselves to riddles. (It is where a
word has a valid meaning in different contexts, e.g. teeth, leaf, legs.) Can a new riddle be made up
together?
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children will recognise and understand more about riddles.
2. They will understand more of God knowing everything, and that he has the answer for every situation.
Sometimes we may not understand his words, but God is the ‘Revealer of mysteries’ (Daniel 2: 29) and
he promises that those who seek will find.
3. They will realise that much of life has to do with problem solving and to begin to develop an
overcoming mentality, which looks to God for his help.
