5. Share a poem together which can act as a reminder to work together or to be thankful or some other
relevant topic, e.g. Kindness to Animals (author unknown). The children may like to memorise parts of
it together.
A different activity to comprehension questions on the poem might be to have the children unravel
sentences about the poem. First there is a need to summarise the message of the poem in about six
sentences. Type these in a large font, taking a new line for each sentence. The children then cut out
each sentence, order the words and either stick or write out the correct sentence at the bottom of the
sheet.

1. The children should appreciate the usefulness of rhyming phrases to help them retain truth and
wisdom.
2. They should know that all truth and wisdom come from God.
3. They will have been encouraged to esteem truth and wisdom.
