            7a and John 1:14.  Show the children how to write an acrostic poem using either

            words or phrases to describe God. Suitable words to base the poem on are: -

                            x Omnipotent
                            x Omniscient
                            x Omnipresent

                            x Almighty
                            x Extraordinary
                            x Supernatural


            Eg      God is
                           All-sufficient                      Always there for us
                           Loving                              Loved us and to die to save sinners
                           Mighty                              Miracle-working God
                           Invisible                           Incomparable, invisible, indescribable

                           Glorious                            Gracious in forgiving time and time again
                           Holy                                Holy in every way
                           Trustworthy                         Trinity of Father, Son and Spirit

                           Yesterday, today and forever  Year after year, faithful and true

            LESSON 4

            ‘ ‘Our Unique Classroom’ - Describing a place

            Ask the children to use their five senses to share a description of the classroom, e.g.
            the busy room buzzes with children’s excited voices. It smells musty if the windows
            are not regularly opened. There are brightly-coloured displays adorning  the walls.
            The children appreciate the fascinating interactive displays which must be carefully

            handled.

            Remind the children of the importance of varying the start of sentences, the use of
            similes, adjectives and adverbs, abstract nouns, various verbs, etc.

            ‘New Ways to Travel to School’ – Fantasy
            Show the children pictures of different modes of transport or let them list some of
            their own in groups.
