The children should be aware of the variety of plants and how we classify them. They should be
familiar with the different parts and functions of flowering plants and the importance of plants as a
food source.
Opportunities for practical work, fair testing, devising experiments, working in groups, gathering and
recording scientific information will further equip the children for future scientific discovery.
