PRODUCTION
The production department
created tote bags called Filluv Cases containing basic
necessities for foster children. Following the procedures set
forth, we conducted product tests of the Filluv Cases to
ensure quality control. After realizing material difficulties
with durability and cost effectiveness, we changed the
intended materials of only tape and denim jeans to expand
towards sturdy fabrics like curtains.
Filluv Case Materials:
• Sewing Machine
• Repurposed pillow cases
• Sewing string
• Denim Jeans
• Curtains
Filluv Case Process:
1. Collected old pillowcases and sturdy fabrics (denim
jeans and curtains) from the general public and solicited
from business corporations.
2. Washed and dried fabrics.
3. Separated pillowcases and fabrics based on size.
4. Measured and cut 21” x 21” of each pillow case and
sturdy fabric, making sure each side was symmetrical.
5. Any excess fabric cut from the pillowcases was used to
create the bag straps.
6. The measured pillowcases and fabrics were cut in half
creating 2 sides of the fabric and pillowcase.
7. Sewed the 2 sheets of sturdy fabrics onto 2 sheets of the
pillowcases to create the interior of the bags.
8. Sewed the pillowcases on 3 sides, making sure one was
left for the bag opening.
9. The excess pillowcase fabric was cut into symmetrical
rectangular strips, creating the bag straps.
10. The rectangular strips of fabric were sewn and attached
to the opening side of the bag.
11. The bag was flipped inside out and the bottom corners
of the bag were pushed out from the interior.
12. Attached product label upon purchase of the bag.
As part of production enhancement, we assisted marketing
in soliciting sponsorship, pillowcases, and basic necessity
items. We added company logos on our social media sites
and created individual appreciation certificates to express
our utmost gratitude for supporting corporations.
