Stakeholders
Before you can develop your strategic plan in detail, you need to think about who
your club/federation serves — your stakeholders.

A stakeholder is any person, group or organisation sharing a mutual interest in the
future of your club/federation. Stakeholders include:
                  • players
                  • coaches
                  • referees
                  • volunteers
                  • spectators
                  • administrators
                  • sponsors
                  • service providers
                  • schools
                  • media
                  • state and local government.

                           Activity 7.7

                  Who are your club/federation stakeholders?

                  Key result areas and goals
Key result areas are broad administration areas that your club/federation will
focus on and achieve outcomes in. This gives the club/federation specific and
measurable targets to work towards achieving. Examples include:
                  • governance — structure, systems, training, positions and appraisals
                  • management — membership, administration, human resources, marketing,
                    communications and finances
                  • technical — coaching, officiating, juniors, females, masters, talent identification
                    and development
                  • operations — volunteer programs, member services, risk management, event
                    management and facilities.
