Activity 5.15
Which of the qualities just listed would you use every time you deal with a client?
Give examples.
It cannot be stressed enough that to quickly and accurately identify client needs
you need to be enthusiastic! A big part of showing your enthusiasm will come from
your body language. Would you want to deal with someone who crossed their
arms, slouched and generally looked uninterested?
Body language to use when dealing with clients includes:
• smiling
• nodding (agreeing with the client)
• good posture
• looking interested at all times
• good movement between all activities
• showing some energy.
Research has suggested that up to 85 per cent of the message received comes
from the body language of the sender, that is you.
