               Assessments	   need	   to	   be:	   
               	   



                                           • The	   assessment	   task	   must	   assess	   what	   it	   is	   designed	   to

                        (relevant)	        • The	   assessment	   should	   combine	   knowledge	   with	   
                                             prackcal	   and	   program-  specific	   applicakons.	   








                                           • 	   Check	   assessment	   methods	   oxen	   to	   make	   sure	   that	   the	   
                         Reliable	           evidence	   is	   always	   interpreted	   in	   the	   same	   way.	   
                                           • Use	   qualified	   OSEP	   assessors	   where	   possible.	   







                                            • Change	   the	   assessment	   to	   meet	   the	   needs	   of	   the	   people	   
                                             and	   the	   environment;	   for	   example,	   equipment	   available,	   
                         Flexible	           learning	   difficulkes	   
                                            • The	   assessment	   should	   combine	   knowledge	   with	   
                                             prackcal	   and	   program-  specific	   applicakons..	   




                                           • All	   the	   learning	   outcomes	   and	   condikons	   must	   be	   made	   
                                             clear	   to	   all	   parkcipants	   before	   they	   are	   assessed	   

                           Fair	           • 	   Assessors	   should	   involve	   parkcipants	   in	   the	   assessment	   
                                             process.	   Let	   them	   have	   some	   input.	   
                                           • Allow	   for	   an	   appeal	   by	   the	   parkcipant	   and	   do	   a
