have made enormous efforts to increase awareness and promote acceptance.
However, biologists found that sexual preference is biologically determined and
cannot be controlled by choice. Homosexuals are becoming more well-received by
the public in today’s generation yet some people are still unaware of the topic,
therefore more efforts should be made to raise awareness to normalise it.
As mentioned in the previous paragraph, homosexuals were previously criminalised
for being themselves. Research has shown that criminalisation based on sexual
preference, has created a negative public opinion towards homosexuals when it
was first known. Hate crimes towards homosexuals by the homophobic are
prevalent even up till now, with many of them being victims of violence and
prejudice. In addition, when violence towards the gays is reported to the police,
most of them are not brought to justice and are instead excused with a warning
or a small fine. This emphasises the injustice done to them, which calls for a need
for change. However, in recent years, huge amounts of efforts are being made to
raise awareness of the injustice and unfair treatment done to them, and much
progress has been made.
2. EXPERIMENTAL METHODS & MATERIALS
QUALITATIVE:
To collect our qualitative data we chose to create a survey that asks a variety of
questions about homosexuality. We chose to use QR code shown in Appendix 2,
as our way to collect data information on our survey. QR code seems to be a
popular way nowadays attracting many people to take a quick scan using their
cameras. In addition, phones are starting to add a QR code scanning feature which
I personally have in my iPhone that was installed automatically. Even if some
people’s phones do not have this feature, they can simply search for it online and
use it for free conveniently. Firstly, we made the survey using Google survey, then
