              IS OBTAINING SOMEONE’S
              IDENTITY UNLAWFULLY,
                     AnD
                IDENTITY FRAUD
              IS USING THAT IDENTITY
                 FOR DECEPTIVE
               PURPOSES WHICH IS
                LIKELY TO LEAD TO
              FINANCIAL OR PERSONAL
                  LOSS TO THE
                  INDIVIDUAL.
                    YOUR IDENTITY             YOU MAY BE
                   CAN BE USED TO:            A VICTIM IF:
                • Open a bank account     • You notice unfamiliar  items on your
                • Order goods in your name       bank and credit card statements.
                • Apply for credit cards    • You receive statements for accounts you
                • Apply for loans          did not open or know about
                • Apply for state benefits    • Your mail, particularly  your bank / credit
                • Get mobile phone  contracts       card statements etc go missing.
                • Sell your assets like  your home    • You have lost important documents
                • Apply for passports       like your passport or driving license
                • Apply for driving license     • You are refused credit or benefit
                • Get married in your name       applications for no good reason.
                          HOw TO REPORT A SCAM
                • IF YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE IS IN IMMEDIATE DANGER OR RISK OF
                   HARM, PHONE 999 IMMEDIATELY.
                • YOU SHOULD REPORT FRAUD, SCAMS AND RELATED CYBERCRIME
                   DIRECTLY TO ACTION FRAUD UNLESS YOU ARE REQUESTING A CALL
                   FOR SERVICE FROM THE POLICE SERVICE OF NORTHERN IRELAND
                   (PSNI).
                • IF YOU REPORT A SCAM, IT gIVES IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO
                   THE AUTHORITIES THAT CAN BE USED TO WARN OTHER PEOPLE.
