If someone approaches the car when you are
parked or stopped at lights, only roll down the
window a little bit.
If you are being followed, drive to a public place
like a service station or straight to the police station
nearby.
If someone tries to flag you down, think twice
before stopping, and avoid picking up hitchhikers
if possible.
If you feel threatened by any other drivers, make a
note of the car and registration number and call
the police.
Keep your valuables hidden from sight, particularly
in busy urban areas or if you are leaving your car
for a second.
Make sure you have a good breakdown cover, and
keep their numbers handy to call immediately if
you break down.
If you are involved in an accident and feel
threatened, stay in your vehicle and call the police
for assistance.
If you break down, stay in your vehicle and keep
your doors locked. On motorways, it is safer to wait
outside behind the crash barrier, but make sure you
can get in your car quickly if you feel threatened.
Keep other doors locked.
