WELLSWAY LOTTERY BONUS
Thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, Wellsway have four new Verde fast mats. Our thanks
must also go to Joan and Stan Hamblin from Saltford Short Mat Bowls Club who generously loaned
their spare mats to help Wellsway get started. Constant publicity and a recent membership drive
has attracted an additional 12 members; who said Short Mat Bowling was a dying sport! In the
first year we had one team in the Bristol and District League. The second year, we had two. This
year we have three. Next year-answers on a postcard!
